This 40ft intermodal container chassis trailer is a heavy-duty road transport unit built from high-strength Q345/T700 carbon steel, engineered to carry one 40ft ISO container or two 20ft ISO containers in a single load. Designed for port terminals, intermodal logistics depots, rail yard container transfers, and long-haul road freight, this chassis is available in 2-axle and 3-axle configurations with mechanical, air, or bogie suspension — specify your required build at time of order.
The main beam is an “I” section profile at 500mm height, fabricated from Q345/T700 high-strength carbon steel throughout. Eight sets of ISO-standard twist locks are fitted as standard, positioned to accept both 20ft and 40ft container corner castings without additional adapters. The kingpin is a JOST bolted type available in 2″ (50mm) or 3.5″ (90mm) specification to match your tractor unit’s fifth wheel — confirm required size at time of order.
The brake system is equipped with a WABCO brake valve, 4 or 6 sets of T30/30 brake chambers depending on axle configuration, a 28L or larger air tank, and nylon wire brake pipes. Landing gear is JOST or YAHUA heavy-duty 28-tonne rated. Tyres are 12R22.5 (8 or 12 pieces depending on axle count) from Triangle, Linglong, or Bridgestone depending on availability at time of build — specify preferred brand if required. Rims are 9.0-22.5 steel or aluminium. Lighting is a fully waterproof 12V/24V LED system compliant with road transport requirements.
