The 20ft container chassis trailer is JK Shipping LLC’s shorter-wheelbase chassis, built to carry a single 20ft ISO container or two 10ft containers for drayage, yard shuttling, and short-haul moves rather than long interstate line-haul. Fabricated from Q345/T700 high-strength carbon steel, it measures 24ft 7in (7,500mm) overall length and weighs approximately 8,000 lbs (3,700 kg) tare — lighter and more compact than the 40ft chassis.
The shorter wheelbase is the operational advantage: it’s easier to spot and maneuver in tight port yards, intermodal terminals, and shipyard container storage areas than a 40ft unit. Between 4 and 8 sets of ISO-standard twist locks are fitted depending on configuration — 4 for a single 20ft container, up to 8 for dual 10ft containers — positioned to accept standard ISO corner castings with no adapters needed. The kingpin is a JOST bolted type in 2″ (50mm) or 3.5″ (90mm); confirm the size you need at order.
Braking uses a WABCO valve with 4 or 6 T30/30 chambers, a 28L air tank, and nylon wire brake pipes. Landing gear is JOST or YAHUA rated to 28 metric tons. The 2-axle configuration is standard for this shorter chassis — confirm with JK Shipping LLC if your payload or route needs a 3-axle build instead. Tires are 12R22.5 (8 pieces), on 9.0-22.5 rims, with a fully waterproof 12V/24V LED lighting system.
