JK Shipping LLC sells shipping containers and container conversions to contractors, businesses and property owners across the continental United States, from our yard in Cherokee, Alabama. Everything on this page is a unit we sell outright — plain steel boxes for storage, and units that arrive already insulated, wired and finished for people to work, trade or live in.
Start with what the container has to do
The categories above are organized by size, which is how most people search. It is not always how you should shop. If you are not sure which size you need yet, start from the job instead:
- Store things and keep them dry and locked. Go to 20ft Containers for the default choice, 40ft Containers if you want the lowest cost per square foot, or 8ft x 10ft Containers if the space or the access is tight.
- Work in it. Container Home & Office covers job site offices, ground level offices, mobile offices on a trailer chassis, and modular homes. These arrive finished; you are buying the build-out, not the steel.
- Sell or serve from it. Kiosks, concession units, bars, cafes and fitted retail builds sit inside the 20ft and 8ft x 10ft categories, and are made to order — allow build time on top of delivery.
- Provide restrooms or crew facilities. Portable Bathrooms holds single and double units, accessible units, shower and laundry blocks, and multi-fixture restroom buildings.
- Get it onto a site a truck cannot reach. Flat Pack units ship knocked down on a pallet and bolt together by hand — no crane, no tilt-bed, no wide approach.
- Move it, or move things with it. Trailers covers container chassis and a mobile office on wheels. Container Pools is exactly what it sounds like.
Three things decide what you pay
Condition. A one-trip container has made a single loaded voyage and looks close to new. A cargo-worthy unit is certified fit for ocean freight but shows trading wear. A wind-and-watertight unit is dry, secure and lockable but not ocean-certified — the cheapest sensible option for a container that will sit on one site and never move again. Refurbished units have been stripped, repaired and repainted.
Height. Standard containers are 8ft 6in externally. High cube units add a foot at 9ft 6in. Once you insulate and line the walls and ceiling you lose several inches of that, so if anyone is going to stand up inside it, or you are stacking pallets, buy the high cube.
How much is already done. An empty box and a finished office can start from the same shell. The difference in price is insulation, framing, drywall, flooring, electrical, HVAC and plumbing — work you would otherwise pay local trades to do on site, at your risk and on their schedule.
What every order includes
- Flat-rate delivery of $500 per order, anywhere we ship in the US. That is per order, not per container — if you are buying more than one unit, order them together.
- Inspection before it ships. Every unit is checked over at our end before it goes on the truck.
- A delivery call. We confirm the address, go through site access and agree a window with you before anything is dispatched.
- Typical timing: 1–3 business days handling, 3–7 days in transit, so most orders arrive 4–10 business days after they are placed. Made-to-order conversions take longer — ask when you order.
- Payment by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link via Stripe, plus Cash App Pay, Amazon Pay, ACH bank debit and direct bank transfer. No PayPal, Klarna, Afterpay or Affirm.
Before you click buy
Two things cause almost every delivery problem, and both are free to check now. Access: a tilt-bed truck needs a straight, clear run in line with where the container will sit — roughly 60ft for a 20ft unit and closer to 100ft for a 40ft — on ground firm enough not to rut under a loaded truck, with nothing overhead. Ground: a container set on soft or uneven ground will twist just enough that the doors stop closing cleanly. Timbers or concrete pads under the four corner castings fix it. Our guide to preparing your site for a container delivery walks through both.
Permits and zoning are down to your county, not to us. Whether a container needs approval before it is sited depends entirely on where you are putting it and what you are using it for, so check with your local building department first — it is a much cheaper conversation before delivery than after.
