Other options worth a look

If nothing here fits the job, these are the closest alternatives — plus the reference pages people read before ordering.

Container offices and container homes

Everything in this category is the opposite of an empty box: the insulation, cladding, electrics and in most cases the plumbing are already done before it leaves the factory. That is the real difference in price against a plain container — you are buying the fit-out, not the steel.

The range, smallest to largest

At the compact end there is a 10ft × 10ft high cube mobile office with 60A electrical and HVAC, and 20ft one-trip offices that are fully insulated and double-glazed. In the middle sit the wider builds — 20ft × 10ft and 20ft × 12ft units that arrive pre-wired and pre-plumbed, some with a half bathroom — plus refurbished anti-vandal cabins at 21ft, 24ft and 32ft with kitchenettes, air conditioning and glazed UPVC doors. At the top end there are two-storey stacks with a rooftop deck and spiral staircase, prefab modular homes, and multi-bedroom units on a three-axle trailer chassis.

Before you order

Two things are worth settling first. Foundations: a fitted unit is heavier than an empty container and needs a level, load-bearing base — piers or a slab under the corner castings, not bare soil. Permits: whether a container office or dwelling needs planning approval, a building permit or a utility inspection depends entirely on your county and its zoning, and that is a conversation to have with your local authority before the unit is on your site rather than after. Delivery is a flat $500 per order.
