This 20ft intermodal container chassis trailer is a heavy-duty road transport unit fabricated from Q345/T700 high-strength carbon steel, purpose-built to carry one 20ft ISO container or two 10ft containers in a single load. At 7,500mm overall length and 3,700 kg tare weight, it is a more compact and lighter alternative to a 40ft chassis — suited to port yards, intermodal terminals, shipyard container movements, and long-haul road freight routes where a shorter wheelbase is operationally advantageous.
The main beam is an “I” section profile at 500mm height, fabricated from Q345/T700 carbon steel throughout. Between 4 and 8 sets of ISO-standard twist locks are fitted depending on configuration — 4 locks for a single 20ft container, up to 8 for dual 10ft containers — all positioned to accept standard ISO corner castings without additional adapters. The kingpin is a JOST bolted type available in 2″ (50mm) or 3.5″ (90mm) to match your tractor unit’s fifth wheel — confirm required size at time of order.
The brake system uses a WABCO brake valve with 4 or 6 T30/30 brake chambers, a 28L air tank, and nylon wire brake pipes. Landing gear is JOST or YAHUA heavy-duty 28-tonne rated. The 2-axle configuration is standard — confirm with JK Shipping LLC if a 3-axle option is required for your payload or route compliance. Tyres are 12R22.5 from Triangle, Linglong, or Bridgestone depending on availability at time of build. Rims are 9.0-22.5 steel or aluminium. Lighting is a fully waterproof 12V/24V LED system.
